You connect a printer with a (for Macintosh) printer cable found
at any computer store. The Mac end connects to the IIGS port
with an icon of a printer. ;-)
You can connect dot matrix, ink-jet, and laser printers for the
IIGS. I'd definitely avoid dot matrix, which is slow and low res.
If you can find a StyleWriter (the original one), then System
6.0.1 already has a driver for it. You'll get sharp 360dpi text
and graphics.
Otherwise, I'd recommend the following printers: Canon
BubbleJet (the one I use now), Epson Stylus, HP DeskJet,
HP DeskWriter, HP LaserJet.
Of these, the HP DeskWriter and Epson Stylus are the
easiest to set up because the IIGS only has serial ports
built in and these printers have serial ports.
Of course to use any of these printers you need drivers.
The drivers are available from http://www.crl.com/~joko
Shareware Solutions II in a package called Harmonie.
Epson Stylus and Canon BubbleJets make use of the
Epson LQ drivers in Harmonie. The HP DeskWriter uses
the DeskJet drivers in Harmonie. Only the DeskJet
drivers can do color, though, so you may want to use
an HP DeskWriter for this reason.

Sure. I have 200+ TrueType fonts on my IIGS system
and still use it for word processing and page layout
tasks. You need a system extension called Pointless
from http://www.crl.com/~joko Shareware Solutions II.
Then you'll be ready to use any Mac format TrueType
fonts.
