Well if the information posted on Delphi is a copyrighted article, it holds just
as many rights as one published on a paper based magazine, whose publishers
could take offence if one were to lift the text and post without prior permission.

For instance if you were to park your car in a public parking lot and someone
'borrows' it for the day without your knowledge, would you be OK just because
it was in a 'public' area?

The key word is permission, after all it is polite. Notice how many people
become offended and rude when permission isn't requested.
