Yes. The Dsub-9 connects to the same places as the DIP socket. If you
connect a joystick to the Dsub-9 socket and have paddles connected to the DIP
socket, the paddle resistances will be in parallel with the joystick
resistances. The Joystick would not be able to cover the full range needed to
play games, etc..
