There could be several things wrong. Parity between systems is one. Most
problems with Apple to PC transfers is mismatched port settings. I have a
//c (not plus) and have no trouble. Transmits 9600, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit,
no parity. This should match on the PC side.
Try some other files from various sites and see if you get the same thing.
The files might really be corrupt. You could also check the setup with a
terminal program on the PC. Run Applesoft on the //c then type in#2, then
from the PC you should be able to send commands to the //c. Try catalog
and if you get a catalog on the //c your settings should be ok. Then the
problem is the files. With the .SHK files be careful how you download
them. Must be a binary download.
