I live in Auckland, not the quake-hit city of Christchurch, so I'm ok,
thanks. I think David lives in Wellington, so he should be ok too.
(For now - Wellington is also built on a fault line.)

But NZ is a small country (4.5M people), so a lot of people will know
someone affected. I suppose it's been on the news in the US because NZ
is a tourist and study destination, and visitors from many countries
are injured, dead or missing. Rescue teams totalling over 700 people
have arrived from those countries, including the US.

Anyway, thanks for your concern. It's a grim time.
