The Byte Works is not directly involved in GNO/ME.  It was
originally developed by Procyon as a competitor to The Byte
Works' ORCA shell. (GNO means "GNO's Not ORCA.") GNO has
evolved to freeware status with support and enhancements
being provided by volunteers led by Devin Reade.

I will agree that you will need The Byte Works' ORCA/C product
if you want to do any programming under GNO.  Also, I should
point out that Mike Westerfield (the driving force behind The
Byte Works) has been quite helpful in making changes to ORCA
products and suggestions to GNO so that both work better
together.
