Yep there are some people who react unfriendly like to stray Mac related posts
here, but mangling posts in a feeble attempt at humor is something new. They
typically post a whiny followup complaining about how this is the wrong group.
Now of course, PC related questions get nary a complaint and usually a useful
answer. Never quite figured out why that is.
Coupla points on your question though: regardless of what Apple calls it now,
there is no beige G3. They're a grey color that Apple used to market as
platinum. And second, it's a little hard to call a G3 old. I'm still using
a Mac from '93 and it gets the job done. Macs have a far longer useful life
span than brand X stuff. So a grey G3 from '97 is at most middle age. Plus
they have old fashioned SCSI and serial ports missing from the new recycled
ice cube tray style G3s.
