Knew I should have qualified that last sentence!
Evidently, the main limitations on using a PC 5.25" drive are compatibility
(some PC drives won't work) and the fact that PC drives can't handle copy protection
tricks like half-tracking (and, of course, having the Trackstar cable stuff to
connect a PC drive).
