Sound, yes, but the IIgs GUI was pretty darn awful in
1986.  It didn't get good until 5.0, and that was
1988 or 1989 and too late to be a selling point -- not
that Apple was interested in selling them anyway.
It was also much slower than the Amiga, thus the
departure of many people who wanted something new and
snazzy to play with.  I think the Amiga was cheaper
besides.

The entire Mac line sold 480,000 units in 1986, so this wasn't too
hard.  (Compare 700,000 IIe sales in 1983.)  And many IIgs systems
were sold to schools instead of people, unfortunately.
