Apple IIe disk drives

Does somebody know where I can find technical information about the Apple
IIe disk drives ?

Mine do not work well and I'm wanting torepair them, however I lack any info
about how they work, and the diagnostics I should make. When the Apple
boots, the "reading" red light turns on, but it is as if no data is read
from the drives.
Any plans, troubleshooting guides, or general info about them would be
useful...
