The IIgs was the most powerful of the II line but the IIc+ was
designed, built and released after the the IIgs.  In 1988 I believe.
However, the IIgs had a motherboard redesign released in 1989 but it
was still the same machine with almost the exact same capabilities.

The last Apple II machine that was still being sold by Apple was the
IIe.  The IIgs was discontinued a year or two before the IIe was.
