Sheercon, you don't need system disks to run an Apple II. Most Apple II
software, including games, utilities, and productivity software like
AppleWorks, include the system software (either DOS 3.3 or ProDOS) right on the
disk. So, buy yourself some software, insert the disk in the drive, turn the
computer on, and you are on your way.
Disks like the DOS 3.3 system master would be of interest to collectors, but
they are not necessary to "run" an Apple II in the same way that Windows or Mac
OS are. Except for free and shareware programs, Apple II system software
(loaded as part of the bootup process) is included on the disk.
If you really want current versions of system software (not the older versions
you see on ebay), you can purchase them at low cost from authorized Apple
representatives such as Shareware Solutions II or The Byte Works.
