And, Willie Yeo replied to that with this:
"I cast my vote against it."
And, I ask Willie -> WHY? Could you please be specific as to why you
are against it? Perhaps an alternative to such a web site would be offering it
all on CD for sale to the general A2 public for the cost of
the material, time and postage. I have almost every A2 public ftp site
contents now on CD and also all of the A2 CD's that were sold to the public as
well - with respect to freeware, shareware and public domain content.
Perhaps it's time to make a new compiled collective CD set of all this
freeware, shareware and public domain contents and to offer it to the public in
such a manner. Certainly this would be a logical alternative to
all the A2 users needs, in the event they ever required it promptly for their
use and could not obtain it, because a web site or ftp site that offered it
became unavailable either temporary or permanently. Your feedback and thoughts
on this are welcomed.
BTW, Willie...I'm still working on my efforts to obtain a reclassification
of all the currently owned A2 commercial software titles by 'The Learning
Company' - to freeware status. I'm expecting an answer from them within the
next few weeks now with their final decision on my request for the massive
amounts of A2 titles they now control the rights to. As soon as I have their
answer and decision on it via email, you'll be
the first to get a copy of that email.
Cheers,
Tom
