Then you can find a IIGS, save the AppleWorks files as text, load
them into the IIGS, use the IIGS to copy them to Mac HFS 3.5"
800k disks, and read them into the Mac.  The only problem is
that text files will lose some of your database formatting, which
can be a pain to correct for 3000 records!

If the records are very important, I recommend using the CrossWorks
package from http://www.sequential.com/ Sequential Systems.
It includes a serial cable to connect your IIc directly to a PC.
Hopefully, you have a PC available (or a Windows/DOS emulator
like SoftWindows on your PowerMac).  The beauty of CrossWorks
is that it includes translators!  Thus, your AppleWorks database
files can be turned, everything intact, into dBase or Microsoft Works
data base files.  These can in turn be imported directly into
Filemaker on the Mac (since the Mac can read PC disks).
