I just read a post where someone answered your question, but I wnat to
clarify the matter a little more.

I (AppleII Librarian) was refering to someone using a MSDOS formatted Zip
disk in a Zip drive.  The MSDOS FST doesn't help with a 3.5" DS/DD or HD
disk unless you have a 3.5 Superdrive and controller in a IIGS.  With the
Superdrive hardware, MUG! does very nicely.  Thanks Peter Watson!
