I suggest just picking up a nullmodem block from Radio Shack that will
fit the PC's end of the line (9-pin or 25-pin).  Save ya work.

It should.  I use ProTerm 3.1 on the Apple end and Qmodem 4.5 on the PC
end myself, but I don't see why Smartcom and Hyperterm wouldn't fly if
you can get to a terminal screen and do file transfers thataway.
