I don't remember it ever being that expensive.  I just went through
some old magazines and in the July, 1989 issue of A+/InCider there is
an article about video digitizers, scanners and the Video Overlay Card
and the sidebar lists the VOC at $549 US!

That just blows me away as I'm sure it was sometime between 1989 and
1992 that I saw the VOCs being sold, brand new, in a computer store in
downtown Toronto for $140 CDN.  I got mine after that store went out
of business and all its stock got sold to another business.  That
business didn't want the Apple II stuff so it went on sale.  I was off
a little in my earlier post, I got my VOC for $85 CDN.

Now I wish I had bought several of them.
