The IIGS handles European character sets (French, Italian, German,
Spanish) just fine.  There are also drop in modules that replace the
language used in System 6.0.1 menus and dialogs with that of European
countries.  I know that on the AUGE CD-ROM, there is a German
version.

I am unaware of software that actually translates words from other
languages to English, however there are international versions of
AppleWorks, AppleWorks GS, and their dictionaries.

Babelfish for the IIGS translates not human langauges, but file
formats (I think).
