8-bit ShrinkIt! uses the NuFX file format and supports packing
using LZW compression.  It can unpack both LZW and LZW/2
compression.

16-bit ShrinkIt! GS uses the NuFX file format and supports
archiving of extended files (IIGS and Mac files with more than
one "fork" or part).  It uses LZW/2 for compression, which is
more efficient than plain LZW used in 8-bit ShrinkIt!

LZW should sound familiar.  It is the compression format of GIF.
