The reason they are using AppleWorks classic and ProTerm is because these are
the programs for which systhesizer software has been written. This special
software interfaces with the systhesizer hardware, and makes the whole thing
work. In the case of AppleWorks, it is a software patch which is applied
directly onto Aplworks.system.
