I bought one when they first came out. It had 128K, a built-in 5 1/4
floppy drive and was an all-in-one unit like the IIc except larger.
The power supply was an external brick like the IIc. There was a panel
on the bottom you could remove to upgrade the rom. I only saw one rom
upgrade become available for $25. It was supposed to improve
compatibility with Real Apples. I never had any compatibility
problems running Apple II software.
I think Central Point was selling Lasers at one point; maybe they were
the main distributor? My Laser came with a free bundled copy of their
disk copy program.
I've seen them for sale on ebay from time to time for cheap. Maybe
I'll get one again for old time's sake.
