Wave file hidden in GS ROM v3!

I was browsing through the GS's ROM file (version 3), when I came across
some data that looked like PCM data.  So, I copied it out, and pasted it
into a new file, played around with it a bit, and when it sounded right,
it sounded (very much so) like a bunch of people collectively saying
"Apple 2".

Anyone heard of this or know how it came about?  Is it playable from
anywhere on the actual GS?

BTW, this data does not seem to be present in version 1.
