You don't mention a com program, do you have one? For an init string,
try AT&F for starters. I think you can view the settings on a Sportster
with ATI6, if that doesn't work try some other numbers in place of 6.
Your init string really depends on what you are using the modem for,
like if it's supposed to auto-answer for your BBS, or what.
