Hard to tell from your photos, but that sure _looks_ like a SCSI <--> MFM
bridge board of some sort. Those were quite common in the early to mid 80s.
Somewhere in my garage, I still have a box full of Adaptec ACB-4xxx boards...
Can you put up a photo of the A2 adapter card?
