     It looks like you do not-- at least not until you've completed the quest on
Level 4.

     Level 4 sounds a bit rough-- darkness and traps. One plan is to wend your way
South and east. Or, maybe, going East until you hit the central walled area and
moving South along the wall is best. (It's been a long time since we hacked our
way through that place.)

     A door opens Eastward and gets you through to the other half of the maze. The
way into the central area is via a teleport in the far NE corner. However, there's
place to recharge your magic in the walled area you've been walking around-- it's
just a ways up (North) if you follow the wall to your left after going through the
door.  

     Once you teleport to the central area, your route is North through a couple
doors and a set of double doors leading to _The_ double doors. There is a nice
clue on Level 2-- something about "playing the last" for the double doors which
block your way. The Bard's songs (from the list in the manual) are ...
