Re: GS/OS 6 (System 6) Where to get it -- update
I missed the start of this thread, but obviously someone has been having
problems unarchiving IIgs disks on a Mac. Has anyone pointed out the new
tech note on Apple's site?
Macintosh Floppy Drives: Creating Apple IIGS Start Up Floppy Disks Issue

Heck,it might be there as a result of this thread,as I said I missed the
start.
I have an iMac with a SuperDisk drive (I believe LS-120 is the generic
name,SuperDisk belongs to Imation's model only) and getting files from my
IIgs is a real pain. It involves compressing them on the IIgs using
Shrinkit, sending them via a null modem cable to my 386 PC (which can only
handle 19.2kb/s,the IIgs can do 57.6) then sending via an ethernet
connection to the Mac. Sending a big file from the IIgs to the PC might take
20 minutes, then 20 seconds from the PC to the Mac. I suppose I really need
a LocalTalk to ethernet bridge!
