Depends upon what you mean by "view". If you plain word processor files
that you want to read on your PC, it will be easy for an Apple II user running
Appleworks to convert the files to Text (preferably with names ending in
".txt"). They could, then be shrinked and emailed to you and you would recover
the Text using Nulib.
For example, with the Text in a Shrinkit file named "myfiles.shk", you
could put myfiles.shk in the same folder as Nulib. In DOS, go to Nulib's
directory and enter ...
nulib xt0 myfiles.shk
Your files would be unshrinked in nice clear PC form and ready to read.
A different approach would be for the Apple II user to use a NULL modem
connection to transfer the files from the Apple II to the PC as Text-- i.e. do
an ASCII transfer. The contents would end up as PC Text files which could be
compressed in a Zip file and emailed to you.
One try that could save a lot of bother is getting an Apple II user to
convert your data diskettes into disk image (.dsk) files. They could be emailed
and you could (I guess) access them running Appleworks under an Apple II
emulator on your PC. I've never tried running Appleworks under a good emulator
(like AppleWin); but, it seems like it should work okay.
