Ok, the card is correctly configured, and I get a 'System Good' message
after the self test...however, I have noticed two 'new' things'
First of all, Alternate Display mode is missing from the DA menu...There
is a blank space there that the cursor disappears into, however. Also, if
I try to access Control Panels, the GS crashes with a Fatal System Error
$0682. This also happens if I hit enter while in the empty space where Alt
Disp should be.
Also, disks now don't boot at all. They fail either before loading the
loader, or right afterwards (on the ProDOS-16 screen)
The system in question is a ROM 01 IIgs with nothing in it except a Apple
IIgs memory expander card, fully populated, and it has 1 3.5 external
drive.
I tried restoring the system defaults but that didn't help me any (I
thought perhaps there was a corrupt value in battery ram)
