Hi, that's not true.  Woz knew.  He worked as an engineer for HP
before he cofounded Apple.  Why his interface was different is
simple: cost.  His was a genius.  His interface had only a few chips
while everyone else, including HP, had closer to 50 chips on their
controllers.

Woz brought the disk drive to personal computers by finding a
way to make them cheap.
