Hi Rubywand,
that's the flyback transformer, which generates the horizontal sweep
signal and the high voltage. Cracked solderjoints would result in no
horizontal (i.e. a VERTICAL line on the screen) or no high voltage (dead
screen). Since Supertimer has a horizonal line on the screen, he has
both high voltage and a horizonal sweep, so that's not the problem this
time. 
The horizontal ciruit is the most prone to failure, since it does a lot
of hard work- the horizontal sweeps many times per vertical sweep. Often
the transistor that drives it overheats and blows.
