Maybe a stuck ESC key? >>

Nope... All the keys work fine.. When I boot with OA-Ctrl-ESC-Reset the
machine briefly says "Normal" at the top of the screen like it should..

<<That could be because the IIGS is not using caching and/or it has a
16-bit mode and 16-bit software cannot be compared directly to
8-bit software.>>

I'm not even looking at 16-bit software.. Purely 8-bit stuff.. Most
specifically Apples very own //gs, //e, //c, //c+ diagnostics disk.. On the
//gs the menus "snap" up on the screen on the //c+ they dont. I just did
something interesting.. I have a disk that has a good long basic program on
it... I booted the disk on the gs and the c+, loaded the program typed "list"
an pressed the enter key at the same time on both machines... The //gs was
finished listing quite a bit before the //c+. This would indicate to me that
the //c+ is not running at 4mhz. The //c+ was cold-booted byt the way...

<<You will find a 4Mhz 65C02.>>

Well I don't think thats what i've got here... Mine is made by VLSI and is
identified as being a 6502-A. It does however have a "Copyright Apple 1987"
on it.
