The ProDOS 8 Technical Reference contains some useful information--
MLI calls, memory maps, structure of files, error messages; however, it
is a remarkably good at managing to _not_ answer many user questions.
For example, there is nothing about the commands (like BLOAD, etc.) you
use via BASIC System.
Exploring Apple GS/OS and ProDOS 8 (by Gary Little) covers
everything in the 'Technical Reference plus the BASIC commands and
includes GS/OS information. It is a much better 'ProDOS Book'.
Based upon some excerpts published in Nibble (Feb-May of 1988),
ProDOS Inside and Out (by Doms and Weishaar) is another good reference.
If you can latch onto the Nibbles for 1987 and 1988, you will
acquire a pile of excellent articles on every aspect of ProDOS. Another
very good series is the stuff by Lee Swoboda in inCider (Mar-Aug of
1985).
In case you do not get a solid response to your WTB ad, be sure to
try Amazon.com . They list many ProDOS books and, although nearly all
are out of print, Amazon will try to locate copies.
