The only driver you need is the LaserWriter driver in IIGS
System 6.0.1.  The LaserWriter supports either direct serial
connection or AppleTalk.  AppleTalk is faster (230k versus
19.2k for direct serial).

Connect the IIGS printer port to the LaserWriter using your
cable.  Install AppleTalk and LaserWriter options via the
System 6.0.1 installer.  Set up the control panels to select the
LaserWriter as the output and your slot settings to enable
AppleTalk and you are done!

You can also use the LaserWriter as a direct connect serial
printer.  Although the IIGS printer port can go up to 56k with
the right driver, I think the LaserWriter is limited to 19.2k
when used as a direct serial printer.
