That's because the Amiga 500, like the Apple IIGS, has better
built in serial than the Super Serial Card.  The Apple IIGS can
also get 28.8k (the 38.4k and 56k baud rates in ProTERM 3.1
are for the IIGS).

Your Super Serial Card can be accelerated to fully support
your 28.8k modem.  I mean, you have an accelerated IIe.
You want the Turbo ASB.  It is a "clock-chipper" for the
Super Serial Card.  I think it is basically a variable speed
oscillator that replaces the one in the Super Serial Card, plus
an optional replacement 6551 if the one you have is the buggy
version.

IIe users with 8Mhz ZipChips have reported successfully
using >100k via direct serial link to a Windows PC!  Your
10Mhz RocketChip equipped IIe is faster.
