My friends 486/DX33 with 20 meg ram runs Netscape 4.03 *FASTER* than
my P75 with 16 meg ram, as long as we both only run that program and
nothing more. (both under Win95). 16 Megs is simply not enough in
the PC world anymore; you'll swap yourself to death. :-( Once we crank
up another program each, my comp is faster, since his also begins to
swap like crazy, what mine does already with netscape alone.

we are fortunate to have a LAN installed in our student's dorm, so i
dont
know how the massive interrupts from a fast serial connection would
affect
this test, though. I guess i could live better, since i have buffered
Com ports..

Sorry for the Off-topic ranting, but it boils down to my hate-love
relation to my PC ....

Wityh the apple, its more of a love-hate relation (the apple hates me
and i love it for that... )
