Apple's Answer to lost characters using a modem.

I just picked up a IIgs users manual and was reading the troubleshooting
section.  I noticed a question that has been debated on this newsgroup
before:

Problem
    "Characters are lost during information exchange."

Analysis
    "There is too much distortion on the phone lines to transmit
information at the speed you are using."

Solution
    "Change to a lower baud, if possible, on both the sending and
receiving end."

I thought this might interest a few people.  This might also include the
cable to the modem itself.
