Hi Apple users:

I wonder if anyone could help me please with some background information 
on the Apple II for an article I am doing on a community-minded man who 
collects them for parts and helps keep others running at the local 
schools that still use them?

Specifically:

1. When did the Apple II first go on the market?

2. When  did it stop selling?

3. Does anyone know how many were made?

4. What were the various model numbers?
