Well the IIe wouldn't have been *that* much more expensive. The main
expense in this setup is the plotter, which could have been $20000 easily.
As for the setups on Louis' page the only really useful and amazingly
overpriced (by today's standards) is RAM. The 6Mb RAM-GS for > $6000
was pretty spectacular. Other than that the prices were driven up by
questionable items and Apple branded products.
For example, >$4000 for an "industrial VCR".. why?
An RGB and Composite monitor for the IIgs setup? (Even if you have a reason
for both (?) it's still dumb to pay for an Apple composite monitor)
>$1000 for an Apple 20Meg hard drive? Any sane person would have bought a
Sider.
Why do you need 2 3.5 and 2 5.25 inch floppy drives when you have a hard
drive?
What's a "KroyKolor Plus"?
Apple Personal Modem with SSC on the IIgs education setup? Why do we need
an SSC? Why are we dumb enough to pay for an Apple personal modem?
