I think the right question is :
    How many time SHR view need to display a classic Gif picture (256 colors)
on the Apple IIgs screen, using the best rendering mode (ie 3200 colors mode)
???

    Then answer is : Infinite Time.

    Convert lets you convert/display pictures or part of picture into 3200
colors mode. It's its first power. If you want to compare conversion time
between programs, let's fight with the 3200 mode. Note that Superconvert 4
can't do it...

    For the grey scale conversions (which is not Convert 3200 speciality...),
programs using a error diffusion algorithm will be better for some picture
(human body). All this, and much more, is clearly told in the documentation.

    Convert 3200 comes with its source code. Who can say the same thing. We
have nothing to hide...
