     The beeping is something we have not run into with our Zip Drive +
RamFAST. Perhaps it is a feature of the Apple SCSI driver.

     One option is to not power ON the Zip Drive; but, since there is no
ON/OFF switch on the drive, it is probably less bother to just place a
disk in the Zip.
