Ahhhh. I wasn't aware of that. Makes sense though, in a way.
Actually, I still have it but the internal 1541 decided to conk out.
Unreliable reads and every write fails. I can get CP/M to boot maybe 15%
of the time and just forget about anything else. But I digress...

Well, here's what I've discovered...
The namestamp is stored in GEOS.KERNAL (around $2300 or so...) so anyone
who feels like helping, if you can make a copy of your GEOS.KERNAL file,
then that would be great if you could send it to me...I want to
investigate some things...
The files GEOS.SYSTEM and GEOLOAD.SYSTEM are the ProDOS launchers,
depending on how you have it all set up (I have both for different
circumstances).
If you copied some files to a standard disk (from within GEOS) and imaged
it up, I could deal with it. So as to your version of GEOS, does it
require the 5.25 disk in the drive in order to boot or (presumably) if you
could install it onto, say, a sider, it would be fine without it? I'm just
wondering because I was thinking of a way that might help you but it might
not apply.

Also, I don't know whether this matters to any of you, but I've been
patching my version of GEOS so that it's system files do not have spaces.
DESK TOP becomes DESK.TOP, etc. Call me old fashioned if you will, but it
bothered me. Besides, now it's soooo much easier to copy it off and onto
ProDOS disks under the MacOS, which has no patches for it...and a couple
other circumstances. And I have yet to encounter any problems over the
patches.

Well, I'm sure there's more to say, but I've forgotten it...I guess I'll
post later if I remember it.
