Let's not forget the real reason for the exodus from Genie to Delphi.
GEnie became Genie (GE sold out). Genie then went through a tumultuous
period in which they even threatened to bag the text based access and/or
raise the rates to an unreasonable amount!

At the same time, Delphi came along with the $34.95/year telnet access.
This fit perfectly with a large number of A2 users who already have
Internet access via an ISP already.
