Well, you can make them available that way and as I mentioned to Mike
Westerfield in a post the other day, I make the HyperCard IIgs A2U
course lessons on Delphi available as bother BXY and BSQ. BXY is a
binary file (ShrinkIt file in a Binary II wrapper) and BSQ is a text
file (BINscii file).
The problem with making binary files available as text files is that
you must convert the binary file into a text file using a special
program like BINscii, UUEncode, MIME or similar. In doing this
conversion of a binary file to a text file, you end up making the file
larger so it takes longer to download.
Personally, I've never had a problem downloading any binary file from
the internet so I do know it is possible for everyone out there to do
it too.
