You will want to keep the correct extension, but you might want to
include
a note for Netscape users that they may need to "shift-click" on the
link
in order for it to download. That's what I did on my MIDI Synth page
found
at http://www.educate.net.au/~apple2/software/tribby/midisynth.html .

The other thing you could do is to make the link go through ftp (ftp://
instead of http://), but that only works if your host has an ftp area
where you can store the files.
