This is an odd one. My netatalk server is setup for network boot of both IIe
and IIgs clients. The IIe works great, as does my Rom03 gs. The Rom01,
however, absolutely will not netboot. It doesn't even try, according to
wireshark. At startup the machine pauses at the splash screen, then boinks
and shows Check Startup Device. If I boot the box with a network-enabled
GS/OS diskette, everything is fine and I can sign on as a client.
I've tried with my trusty Gatorbox and the EtherPrint LT - no dice either way.
Settings are (and remember, this works fine for the client diskette):
Slot 1 : Your Card
Slot 2-6 : Internal
Slot 7 : AppleTalk
Boot: Scan (I've also tried 1 and 7)
The only other storage device is an Appledisk 3.5 on the built-in smartport.
I've tried resetting the CMOS to 60Hz + Standards and reconfiguring from
there. No luck.
Others tell me they have no problem netbooting a Rom01. Anyone have a theory
why this won't cooperate?
