Well, let's see, in William Tell (Guillaume Tell), an opera by Gioacchino
Rossini (1829), of which the last section of the overture is one of the
best-known pieces of music of OUR time, Guillaume shoots an Apple II from his
son Jemmy's head...

Actually, one of my subscribers works at the Metropolitan Opera, and up until a
few years ago they did use Apple II's to keep track of music scores.... I'll
have to get out his letter and see exactly what it was. I have been listening
to the Saturday Met radio broadcasts for many years. Today was the first
broadcast of this season, and Bryn Terfel's broadcast debut, as Figaro
(Mozart's, not Rossini's).
More than you wanted to know, right? That's why we have a --private-- mail

Yes, I know there's an opera newsgroup. You should see the flames over there...
