My experience with a number of Mac HD toolkits is that if they are unable
to install a driver into a partition on the disk, they will load one into
memory instead. I've used this with option with FWB Tools 1.6 to mount a
ProDos volume on a Mac. You may well be able to use Norton Utilities to
load a temporary hard disk driver.

David's advice on backing up critical data and applications before
proceeding with anything definitely applies.
