copy protected disks via adt???

I'm trying to help out a school to make legal copies of some of there
old licensed Apple II education software into .DSK pc emulation format.
But only a few of the disks were read successfully with ADT 1.21.

So, what's the answer??? I have many possible ideas...

If the disks (from MECC) are copied protected, is there a way to make a
binary copy via some other method besides ADT??? I have heard of
DSK2FILE, but I have not tried it yet. I'm afraid that it will also
fail to read the diskettes because of the copy protection.
BTW does ProDos vs. Dos make any difference...

Was their any nibble copy program that could produce/send a binary copy
of each track/sector to the com port or file?

What about using an Apple IIGS to make a binary image???

Any suggestions welcome
