Ok, here's what works and what does not.
Clicking on "Apple II Discussion" group results in an
"area undefined" message. The AOL based discussion
group is down.
Clicking on the file transfer area shows that the AOL files
are still present. Anyone can download these files and
the forum even tells you how to unpack the software
on Macs or Windows PCs.
I noticed that all the files are relatively old, from 1996.
Curious, I uploaded something. The upload went fine
and I got a message that the file will be reviewed. I
suspect, however, that the forum leader has long since
stopped checking for uploads.
Finally, I clicked on Apple II chat (the message on the
forum says to watch it every Thursday at 10PM EDT).
I entered a perfectly working chat room with the name
"Computer Camp IV" and it was empty.
So, if any AOL based Apple II user visits the A2 Forum
on AOL, be sure to check out the chat room! No one
else is using it, but it CAN be used!
