Several ways:  direct connection between the two serial ports using a
null-modem cable or jucture, or what I've been doing between my GS on
the table and the 486/75 notebook on the desk:  put a phone wire
between the Line jacks on the modems and use a term program on each end
(here:  ProTerm on the GS and Qmodem 4.6TD on the 486, booted in DOS
mode)  I've been getting stuff off the Net and shipping to the GS.

Once you have the stuff on the GS, you can use the usual utilities
(GSHK, BSC-It, so forth) to make them usable.
